Intune Enrolment - Apple iPad Devices


Introduction


This user guide describes how to register an Apple iPad device to the Mobile Device Management Platform. 


System Requirements


The following instructions are relevant to Apple devices with an iOS 15 or higher. 


Part A

Step (1) Switch-on the device.  On the Hello screen, tap the ‘Home’ button at the bottom of the device; then tap 'English'.
Step (2) On the Select your Country and Region screen; tap 'Australia' from the list.
Step (3) On the Quick Start screen, tap on 'Set Up Manually'.
Step (4) Select ‘icare-colleague’ then tap on ‘Next’ on the Wi-Fi network selection screen – you will then need to enter your icare credentials to access Wi-Fi.
Step (5) On the Data & Privacy screen, tap on ‘Continue’
Step (6) It is recommended to restore from iCloud if backups were performed on your old device. For a new device, select ‘Don’t transfer Apps & Data’.

Step (7) On the Remote Management screen, tap on 'Next'.

Note: This screen will appear in step 18 if restoring from a previous device


Step (8) Configuring iPad message will be displayed whilst the device installs the configuration profile on the device.
Step (9) On the Face ID screen, tap on ‘Set Up Later’.

Note: This step will not appear if this functionality was already configured on the device you are replacing.
Step (10) On the Create a Passcode screen, enter a passcode of your choice.

Note: This step will not appear if this functionality was already configured on the device you are replacing.
Step (11) On the Create a Passcode screen, re-enter passcode.

Note: This step will not appear if this functionality was already configured on the device you are replacing.

Step (12) The Apple ID screen will be displayed.

You may choose to enter your Apple ID (optional) or tap ‘Forgot password or don’t have an Apple ID?'


Note: This step will not appear if this functionality was already configured on the device you are replacing.


Step (13) On the Apple ID screen, tap on ‘Set Up Later in Settings’. And then tap on ‘Don’t Use’ at the prompt.

Note: This step will not appear if this functionality was already configured on the device you are replacing.
Step (14) On the Terms and Conditions page, tap on ‘Agree’.
Step (15) On the Keep your iPad Up-to-Date screen, tap ’Install Updates Manually’
Step (16) On the Screen Time screen, tap on ‘Set Up Later in Settings’.
Step (17) On the Appearance screen, select either the Light or Dark display option depending on your preference and click ‘Continue’.

Step (18) On the Remote Management screen, tap on ‘Next’.

 

Note: This screen will appear in step 7 if setting up a new device.


Step (19) On the Go Home screen, tap on 'Continue’.
Step (20) On the Switch Between Recent Apps screen, tap on 'Continue’.
Step (21) On the Quickly Access Controls screen, tap on 'Continue’.
Step (22) On the Welcome to iPad screen, tap on ‘Get Started’

Step (23) To access Corporate Resources, select to open ‘Company Portal’ and follow instructions in Part B.  Note:   Failure to sign in within 24 hours, the device may require a factory reset.

 

Please contact the Service Desk if the app does not install within 30minutes.




Part B

Step (1) On the Microsoft Intune Sign In screen; enter your iCare email address in the format below and tap 'Next'
Step (2) Enter your full email address and network password. Tap on ‘Sign In
Step (3) Verify using OTKA. In this instance, SMS Authentication is used. Tap on ‘Send code’. Tap on ‘Enter Code’. Enter the Code that shows above the keypad and tap on ‘Verify’.
Step (4) You will be redirected to the screen below for company access setup, tap on 'Begin'.
Step (5) Tap on 'Continue'.
Step (6) Wait on this screen as the company portal configures the device. The screen will redirect once it is completed.
Step (7) Tap on ‘Done’.
Step (8) Tap on ‘Okay’ and ‘Allow’ to allow Notifications for Comp Portal
Step (9) The device is now enrolled. When the survey prompt appears on the screen, tap on ‘Not Now’.

Step (10) On the Apps screen, tap on an application to install. For example, ‘Microsoft OneNote’.

 

Note: Microsoft Office Suite apps require Wi-Fi connection to install. You can connect to icare-colleague Wi-Fi network. 


Step (11) Tap on 'Install' to install the app.
Step (12) Click the Home Button to enter the Home Screen.
Step (13) On the home screen, you will notice the recently installed applications appear along with some corporate applications installed automatically. Tap on Outlook app to setup your email.
Step (14) Outlook will detect your iCare account, when detected, tap on ‘Add Account’
Step (15) Tap ‘OK’ on the security pop-up message. Outlook will restart.
Step (16) Tap on Outlook app to open it again.
Step (17) Tap ‘OK’
Step (18) Tap ‘Turn On’ on the Enable Notifications pop up message.
Step (19) Tap on ‘Allow’ on the Outlook Notifications pop up message.
Step (20) Your emails will load shortly.



Your device has now been successfully enrolled.
