Intune Enrolment - Apple iPhone Devices 


Introduction


This user guide describes how to register an Apple mobile device to the Mobile Device Management Platform.


System Requirements

  • Apple device with iOS 16 or higher
  • Internet connection (4G or Wi-Fi)

The following instructions are relevant to Apple devices with an iOS 17.


Part A

Step (1) Switch-on the device. On the Hello screen, swipe up from the bottom of the device; then tap 'English'. 
Step (2) On the Select your Country and Region screen; tap 'Australia' from the list. 
Step (3) On the Appearance screen, you may choose between Default, Medium or Large. Then select 'Continue'. 
Step (4) On the Quick Start screen, tap on 'Set Up Without Another Device'. 
Step (5) Select ‘Continue Without Wi-Fi’ then tap on ‘Continue’ when prompted.
If this button does not appear, tap on 'Next' at the top right.

Note: if you have connected to a Wi-Fi network that does not work, hold down the power button then tap 'Wi-Fi Settings'. Tap the (i) symbol next to the network and then tap 'Forget Network'.
 
Step (6) On the Data & Privacy screen, tap on ‘Continue’. 
Step (7) It is recommended to restore from iCloud if backups were performed on your old device. For a new device, select ‘Don’t Transfer Apps & Data’ 

Step (8) On the Remote Management screen, tap on 'Next'.

Note: This screen will appear in step 20 if restoring from a previous device


Step (9) Configuring iPhone message will be displayed whilst the configuration profile is installed.
Step (10) On the Create a Passcode screen, enter a passcode of your choice; it must be 4 digits or more. Ensure that it is not repeating or consecutive numbers.

Then re-enter your passcode to confirm.
 

Step (11) On the Apple ID screen, you may choose to enter your Apple ID (optional) or tap ‘Forgot password or don’t have an Apple ID?'

 
Step (12) On the Apple ID screen, tap on ‘Set Up Later in Settings’. And then tap on ‘Don’t Use’ at the prompt.
 
Step (13) On the Update screen, tap ‘Continue’
Step (14) On the iMessage & FaceTime screen, tap on ‘Continue’.
Step (15) Select either Light, Dark or Auto display options depending on your preference and click "Continue". 
Step (16) On the Welcome to iPhone screen, Swipe up from the line at the bottom of the screen.
Step (17) To access Corporate Resources, select to open ‘Company Portal’ and follow instructions in Part B. Note: Failure to sign in within 24 hours, the device may require a factory reset. Please contact the Service Desk if required. 



Part B: Signing In


Step (1) On the Microsoft Intune Sign In screen; Tap the Username field, enter your iCare email address and tap 'Next' 
Step (2) Enter your full email address in the Username field and network password in the Password field. Tap on ‘Sign In
Step (3) Verify using OTKA. In this instance, SMS Authentication is used. Tap on ‘Send code’.
Step (4) Tap on 'Enter Code' and Select the ‘SMS code’ received above the key pad. 
Step (5) Tap on ‘Verify’.
Step (6) You will be redirected to the screen below for company access setup, tap on 'Begin'.
Step (7) Tap on 'Continue'.
Step (8) Wait on this screen as the company portal configures the device. The screen will redirect once it is completed.
Step (9) Tap on ‘Done’.
Step (10) Tap on ‘Ok’ and ‘Allow’ to allow Notifications for Comp Portal
Step (11) The device is now enrolled. When the survey prompt appears on the screen, tap on ‘Not Now’.

Step (12) On the Apps screen, tap on an application to install. For example, ‘Microsoft SharePoint’.

 

Note: Microsoft Office Suite apps require Wi-Fi connection to install. You can connect to icare-colleague Wi-Fi network. 


Step (13) Tap on 'Install' to install the app.
Step (14) Swipe Up from the line at the bottom of the screen to enter the Home Screen.
Step (15) On the home screen, you will notice the recently installed applications appear along with some automatically installed corporate applications. Tap on Outlook app to setup your email.
Step (16) Outlook will detect your iCare account, when detected, tap on ‘Add Account’
Step (17) Tap ‘OK’ on the security pop-up message. Outlook will restart.
Step (18) Tap on Outlook app to open it again.
Step (19) Tap ‘OK’
Step (20) Tap ‘Turn On’ on the Enable Notifications pop up message.
Step (21) Tap on ‘Allow’ on the Outlook Notifications pop up message.
Step (22) Your emails will load shortly.



Your device has now been successfully enrolled.
