Intune Enrolment – Apple iPad Devices

 

Introduction

 

This user guide describes how to register an Apple mobile device to the Mobile Device Management Platform.

 

System Requirements

  • Apple iPad with iOS 16 or higher
  • Internet connection (4G or Wi-Fi)

Note: you will need to sign in to your DPE network account and may be prompted to verify via the Authenticator app or SMS.

If you have an iCloud backup of your old work phone, please see the guide for restoring the backup here. If you are resetting an existing device as a migration from non-supervised to supervised status, it must be set up as a new iPad and cannot be restored from a backup.

Part A: Device Setup


1. Switch-on the device.  On the Hello screen, swipe up from the bottom of the device; then tap 'English'.

  

2. On the Select your Country and Region screen; tap 'Australia' from the list.

                           

3. Tap on 'Set Up Manually'.


Note: the Quick Start method is not compatible and may require a factory reset if performed.

 

4. On the Network Selection screen tap on Continue Without Wi-Fi’

 

5. On the Data & Privacy screen, tap on ‘Continue’

 

 

6. For the Preferred and Quick setup tap on 

‘Don’t transfer Apps & Data’

 

Only Select ‘Restore iCloud Backup’ if you have an iCloud backup of your old Apple Device and are able to connect the new device to a Wi-Fi connection

7. On the Remote Management screen, tap on ‘Next’.

 

Note: This screen will appear in step 15 if restoring from a previous device 

 

8. On the Touch ID screen, tap on 'Set Up Touch ID Later'.


Tap ‘Don’t Use’ at the prompt.

 

9. On the Create a Passcode screen, enter a 

6 digit passcode of your choice.


It cannot be numbers in sequence or repeating.

10. Re-enter your passcode to confirm.

11. Apple ID Tap on ‘Forgot password or don’t have an Apple ID?’.

12. Apple ID Tap on ‘Set up Later in Settings’.

13. Apple ID Tap on ‘Don’t Use’. 

14. On the Location Services screen, tap ‘Enable Location Services’

15. On the Appearance screen, select either the Light or Dark display option depending on your preference and click ‘Continue’.

16. On the Welcome to iPad screen, tap on ‘Get Started’.

17. To access Corporate Resources, select to open ‘Company Portal’ and follow instructions in Part B.  Note:  Failure to sign in within 24 hours, the device may require a factory reset.

 

Note: Please contact the Service Desk if the app does not install within 30minutes.

 

 

 

Part B: Signing In


1. Tap Sign In, then on the Sign In Screen, Enter your full email address. Tap ‘Next’

2. Enter your network password. Tap on ‘Sign In

3. You may be asked to approve your sign in request with either Authenticator or SMS.


For any issues with verifying, contact DPE IT.

4. You will be redirected to the screen below for company access setup, tap on 'Begin'.

5. Tap on 'Continue'.

6. Tap on ‘Done’.

 

7. Tap on ‘Ok’ and ‘Allow’ to allow Notifications for Comp Portal

8. The device is now enrolled. 

9. Return to the home screen where Microsoft Outlook and Teams should start to install. Tap on the icon once it has finished installing.



If the icon is stuck on 'waiting', you may need to tap on the icon to initiate the download.

10. Tap on 'Add Account'. Your Outlook account will now be setup on your iPad.

Your device has now been successfully enrolled.
